Silver Lakes is part of an upmarket residential estate which is situated in genuine bushveld country, 20 kilometres to the east of Pretoria. As the name of the club implies, there is an abundance of lakes and beautiful water features running through the spectacular Silver Lakes Golf course. The championship golf course is designed by Peter Matkovich, who loves water design features. The views from here are beautiful. The natural vegetation of the region has been restored and wildlife has been encouraged to return. Bird life is beautiful and even rare bird species like the African spoonbills, purple gallinules and the fish eagle share this space with people. In the grasslands grass owls, game and whydahs widows make Silver Lakes their home. Evenings are filled with the sounds of frogs and a variety of insects winding down as the sun sets. A series of paved pathways offer safe space in which to walk, jog or even cycle.
